Job Description
Main Purpose
The Digital Capability & BI Specialist develops, implements and sustains plant competency development programs and digital solutions to improve workforce capability, operational performance and continuous improvement. The role works closely with Operations, HR, Engineering and CI teams to identify capability gaps, deploy digital use cases and support strategic business initiatives.

Delivering team/area Key Performance Indicators (KPI) linked to the Compelling Business Need (CBN) in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Engagement through capability building, digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety, Health and Environment
• Drive a strong Safety, Health & Environment culture and role model safe behaviors.
• Ensure compliance with SHE policies, PPE requirements, and safety standards.
• Conduct BOS and OFS activities according to plant requirements.
• Support competency development related to SHE and operational excellence.
Quality
• Promote and support a strong quality culture across all functions.
• Ensure training and competency programs align with quality management requirements.
• Support capability building initiatives that strengthen product quality and compliance.
Leadership & Capability Development
Competency Management
• Own and manage the plant competency management system, including competency matrices, skills assessments, and gap closure plans.
• Develop and monitor competency KPIs to ensure workforce capability requirements are achieved.
• Partner with HRBP, CI Manager, and functional leaders to establish and implement standardized competency development programs.
• Drive Train-the-Trainer programs and capability-building initiatives across the plant.
• Support workforce flexibility through multi-skilling and cross-functional development.
• Lead competency development in Continuous Improvement methodologies, including:
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Kaizen
- SMED
- 5S
- Problem Solving
- Autonomous Maintenance
- Basic Six Sigma tools
• Own the plant idea generation and improvement suggestion system to strengthen CI culture.
• Lead selected capability-building and loss-reduction projects linked to MOS priorities.
Digital & Data Leadership
• Promote digital transformation and data-driven decision making across the plant.
• Act as local champion for Business Intelligence (BI), analytics, and digital solutions.
• Collaborate with plant teams, Digital Engineering, IT/OT, and central digital communities to identify and deploy digital use cases.
• Support digital capability development and digital literacy across all plant functions.
• Actively benchmark and share best practices with internal and external stakeholders.
Delivery & Continuous Improvement
Digital Solutions & Business Intelligence
• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve digital solutions including:
- Power BI dashboards
- Automated reporting
- Applications and workflow solutions
- Data visualization tools
- Analytics and optimization models
• Drive intelligent automation initiatives including RPA and workflow automation.
• Support implementation of predictive analytics and machine learning use cases where applicable.
• Act as Product Owner for local digital solutions and ensure sustainability of deployed tools.
• Create training materials, user guides, and documentation for digital solutions.
Project & Stakeholder Management
• Lead digital and capability projects using agile project management principles:
- Requirement gathering
- Solution evaluation
- Design and testing
- User training
- Deployment and sustainment
• Work closely with MOS Pillars, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, HR, and CI teams to identify improvement opportunities.
Support Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops through data analysis and capability development.
Systems & Reporting
• Serve as Super User for competency management and digital learning systems.
• Maintain competency records, training databases, digital dashboards, and KPI reporting.
• Monitor training effectiveness and digital solution performance through agreed KPIs.
• Provide regular reporting and insights to support business decision-making.
Cost & Business Performance
• Support delivery of the plant's CBN, AOP, and VCP objectives through capability building and digitalization initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, productivity improvement, and operational efficiency through data analytics and workforce capability enhancement.
• Manage relationships with external training providers and digital solution partners to ensure value delivery.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related disciplines.
- Fluent in local language and proficient in English (written and spoken).
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Continuous
- Improvement, Learning & Development, Digital Transformation,
- Business Intelligence or related functions.
- Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder management
- Skills with the ability to engage both shopfloor and management teams.
- Experience in competency management, training coordination, capability building and learning system administration.
- Experience in manufacturing operations and Continuous
- Improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Operating System (MOS), Lean
- Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving and Autonomous Maintenance.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs, Train-the-Trainer initiatives and competency assessment frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing digital solutions and data-driven improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Grafana and Azure Data Explorer.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power
- Automate, Power BI) and workflow automation solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into practical digital solutions.
- Understanding of manufacturing data structures, databases, asset data models and operational technology (OT) systems.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and performance management concepts.
- Experience managing improvement projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to develop training materials, standard operating procedures and user documentation.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates continuous learning mindset and passion for digitalization, capability development and operational excellence.
Preferred
- Experience as MOS Pillar member, CI Champion, Digital Champion or Training Coordinator within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies.
- Exposure to predictive analytics, machine learning or advanced manufacturing analytics solutions.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Training & Facilitation or related disciplines would be an advantage.
